Who We Are
The National Forum for Black Public Administrators (NFBPA) is the principal and most
progressive organization dedicated to the advancement of black public leadership in
local, state and federal governments.

Our 2,600+ members represent more than 350 jurisdictions in 37 states and collectively
manage more than $60 billion annually in public sector spending.

Mission
NFBPA's overall mission is to strengthen the capacity of state, local and federal
government managers through intensive training, professional development programs
and access to an extraordinary network of members and supporters.
History
Since NFBPA was founded in 1983, its membership has grown to include virtually
every discipline represented in local, state and federal governments. An independent,
501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, NFBPA has established a national reputation for
designing and implementing quality leadership development initiatives. The Southern
Piedmont Chapter was chartered in 1993.
